French Onion Soup Burger
Nothing beats a nice French onion soup at a diner or restaurant. You also can't go wrong with a Burger ever! Ever thought about putting your two favorites together to create a mouth-watering combo? AKA, the French onion soup Burger.
Start with slowly cooking your onions in oil, butter, broth, sherry, and thyme to grow your delicious flavors. Then cook your Burger, top with Gruyere cheese, and build your French Onion Soup Burger 🍔

1 Pack Schweid & Sons The Signature Blend Burgers

4 Cups Yellow (or Spanish) Onions
-
1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
-
4 TBSP olive oil
-
10 oz Beef Broth
-
2 TBSP Dry Sherry
-
1 TSP Dried Thyme
-
4 Slices Gruyere Cheese
-
Salt (to taste)

Pepper (to taste)

1. Slice Onions thin and set aside.

2. Melt Butter with Olive Oil in a pot on medium heat. Add Onions and continually stir until tender and translucent. Do not brown the Onions.

3. Add Beef Broth, Sherry, and Thyme. Season with Salt and Pepper, and simmer for 30 minutes.

4. Cook Burgers to order (4-5 minutes per side on high heat will usually yield Medium Rare).

5. When Burgers are near done, add slice of Gruyere and allow to melt.

6. Build your Burger: Bottom Bun, Burger with melted Gruyere, scoop of Onions, Top Bun.
