Ingredients
-
1 Pack Schweid & Sons The Signature Blend Ground Beef Brick
-
1/2 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
-
1/2 White Onion
-
2 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
-
1 Each Egg
-
2 Tbsp Ketchup
-
1 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
-
2 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
-
1 Tbsp Olive oil
-
2 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
-
1/2 White Onion (Finely Chopped)
-
8 Ounces Button/Cremini Mushrooms (Sliced)
-
2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
-
2 Tbsp All-Purpose Flour
-
2 Cups Beef Stock
-
1/4 Cup Flat Leaf Italian Parsley (Finely Chopped, for garnish)
-
Mashed Potatoes
-
Sauteed Kale (or Green Beans)
Instructions
-
1. In a large bowl, add the panko breadcrumbs. Using a box grater, grate the onion into the bowl and stir to combine. Add the remaining salisbury steak ingredients and use your hands to mix thoroughly. Set aside to let the flavors combine for about 5-10 minutes– this is a good time to prep your gravy ingredients!
-
2. Form the beef mixture into four equally sized oblong “steaks,” about ¾” thick and plate on a sheet pan or parchment paper.
-
3. In a large cast iron skillet, heat 1-2 Tbsp neutral oil over high heat. Place salisbury steaks in pan and cook, undisturbed, for about 5 minutes. Once nicely browned on the first side, flip and repeat. Once nicely browned on both sides, remove steaks and set aside. They will still be raw or undercooked in the center at this time and will finish cooking in the gravy.
-
4. To the same skillet, add the onion and garlic and cook until fragrant and onion is translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring often, until golden and moisture has been released, about 4 minutes.
-
5. Plate with your desired sides and garnish with a sprinkle of flat leaf parsley. Enjoy!
