Mediterranean Burger

If you have a hankering for a classic Middle Eastern gyro sandwich but want to try something other than the traditional shaved lamb, beef, or chicken, try making it with ground beef in the form of The Very Best Mediterranean Burger!

That’s right, it’s a Mediterranean Burger with all the fixings of a classic gyro (you’re welcome!).

The light and fresh ingredients in the Tzatziki sauce make it a perfect summer Burger paired with fresh from-the-garden picks like vine-ripened tomato, dill, cucumber, red onion, hot peppers, and butter lettuce (in case you didn’t know, butter lettuce is having a moment!). Use pita bread instead of a classic Burger bun. Stuff the Burger in the pita or serve taco style wrapped around one end of the Burger. The only other topping you need is feta cheese, and you are good to go!

If you’re feeling a bit more fancy, add cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and pepperoncini peppers! Not only will they add a pop of color, but these ingredients will add loads of flavor.

How to Make the Mediterranean Burger:

  1. Start with putting your premium ground beef Burgers—like Schweid & Sons The Prime Burger—on the grill.
  2. Prep the Tzatziki sauce (greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, and chopped dill).
  3. Split your pita bread in half (depending on how you plan to serve the Burgers) and quickly grill each side.
  4. Build your Burger to your liking or check the recipe below for a suggested presentation!
