Spotlight Celebrity Burgers: Bobby Flay’s Crunch Burger
In the Schweid & Sons Kitchen, we are always looking for culinary inspiration. For instance, we LOVE recipes shared by celebrity chefs and trying to make them our own. First up in our celebrity Burger series is Bobby Flay and his epic Crunch Burger. This Burger recipe is a staple at his two restaurants, Bobby’s Burger Palace and Bobby’s Burgers. Bobby Flay has been in the Burger game for a while now, and we trust him to help us make The Very Best Burger! This past February, we had the honor of having Bobby Flay as the moderator for the “Between the Buns” panel at FoodieCon in Miami, Florida, for the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. This was a food influencer competition to see what goes into making a delicious Burger, something Bobby Flay knows a lot about.
What You’ll Need:
- Schweid & Sons The Signature Blend 5.3oz patties
- Hamburger buns
- Beefsteak tomato slices
- Romaine lettuce
- Red onion slices
- Handful of potato chips/Doritos/Chip of choice
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp drained horseradish
- Salt and pepper
The Crunch Burger Build
Start with a Schweid & Sons Signature Blend Burger and cook it to perfection (aka the temperature you prefer). Slap a slice of American cheese while the Burger is still cooking to make sure it melts nicely. For a quicker melt, cover your pan with a lid. While your Burger is cooking, set aside your toppings and prep your Horseradish Mustard Mayo. Mix your mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, horseradish, salt, and pepper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Once your cheese is melted, remove from the pan and start your Burger build! Pop it on a potato bun and garnish with romaine lettuce, red onion, horseradish mustard mayo. Finally the crunch—a layer of your favorite potato chips—before you put the top of the bun on. Getting that potato chip crunch on top of a juicy Burger is where it’s at! Don’t have potato chips? Choose Doritos or a barbecue chip to top it off!
Pro Tip: Make the Horseradish Mustard Mayo one day in advance to let the flavors fully fuse together!
