2022 Summer Grilling Prep Guide

Woo hoo, grilling season is back! Well, for you warm weather dwellers this may not be as exciting as it is for those of us up north, but either way, the official start to summer is upon us. We think it’s a reason to celebrate, so let’s get ready for Burgers, Burgers, and more Burgers 🍔.

As meat lovers, the grill is our best friend in the summer. So, it only makes sense to treat it right and prepare to open up the grill for the season.

Here are a few tips to getting your gas grill in prime shape for summer.

  1. Go through your grill and check for corrosion or bugs and pests, especially if it’s been sitting unused indoors or outdoors.
  2. Check the fuel line to ensure it’s working properly and make sure you have a full tank of propane (or two) handy for all your summer entertaining.
  3. Give the grill a thorough cleaning including removing debris from the burner areas, scrubbing the grill grates, cleaning burner tubes with a wire brush, and give the grease pan a clean rinse to prevent grease fires.
  4. Take tool inventory to make sure you’re not missing any of the essentials like tongs, spatula, and scraper. You might even want a few new things like cedar planks, a handy spray bottle, grill gloves, and serving trays.

Last but not least stock up on Schweid & Sons Burgers, of course. Might we suggest the Prime Burger or the All American blend to have ready to go in your fridge or freezer?
