2024 South Beach Wine & Food Festival

The 2024 South Beach Wine & Food Festival®Kraft Heinz Burger Bash was a sizzling success!

We have proudly presented the Burger Bash for nine consecutive years and every year we are amazed at the level of talent displayed by the restaurant teams.

“30 Minute Meals” Rachael Ray was our host, and we had a fun and engaging panel including Charlie Day & Glenn Howerton from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, model Kate Upton, rappers Yung Gravy & Rev Run, and well-known Miami personalities Trina Robinson, and Enrique Santos.

After tasting and judging 23 Burgers amongst the panel, The Very Best Burge Award was claimed by Cowy Burger, featuring an Angus smash patty, American cheese, bacon jam, grilled onions, and Cowy sauce!

What’s the story behind Cowy Burger and who are they? Spotlight on: Cowy Burgers

Chefs Guillermo Felipe, Carlos Reveron, and Daniel Machicao have known each other for more than 15 years. When they met, they were just kids in a small high school in Caracas, Venezuela. Now, many years later, they find themselves smashing burgers side by side in some of Miami’s most recognized spots.

Their stories in the kitchen have different origins but converge on the love for food, Carlos worked in a sushi restaurant during college and fell in love with cooking, Guillermo worked for many years in the kitchen, from Italian to French cuisines and Daniel worked in American restaurants in both back and front of the house.  Their joint love for food and the industry took them first into food photography and content creation, working together to help restaurants improve their online presence. Taking pictures for restaurants provided a new perspective on the business and finally in September 2022 they decided to start their own pop-up food project, incorporating recipes they developed during their years in the industry into a very established American plate, the Smash Burger.

2024 was the first time Cowy Burgers competed in the South Beach Wine & Food Festival Burger Bash. They took home The Very Best Burger award beating out 23 other Burgers in a blind taste test! Congratulations to them and their hard-working team.

Cowy Burgers focuses on providing consistency in the quality of the burgers. They also keep a consistent schedule for their popups, with usually 3 events per week.
