  1. First, make the parmesan pepper sauce. Prepare the Roux: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the flour and whisk continuously until a smooth paste forms. Cook the roux for about 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent it from burning.
  2. Add Milk: Gradually pour in the milk while whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming. Keep whisking until the mixture is smooth and thickened, resembling a creamy sauce.
  3. Once the sauce has thickened, add the grated Parmesan cheese a handful at a time and continue stirring, until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in the freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste. Optionally, add a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  5. Allow the sauce to simmer gently for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, to meld the flavors together and ensure the sauce is the desired consistency. While the sauce is simmering, cook Burger patties to desired temperature and toast your buns.
