To celebrate National Hamburger Month, Schweid & Sons proudly brings you the 4th Annual NY Burger Week, May 1-7, 2015.

The Burger Week is a 7-day celebration of trendsetting chefs and unique burgers with a series of daily events.

Schweid & Sons announces the 4th annual NY Burger Week from May 1-7, 2015. Offering gourmet blends, off-menu specialities, drink pairings – and the return of the NY Burger Feast! (Details coming soon.) NY Burger Week will pay tribute to the world’s greatest sandwich, the Hamburger. Each restaurateur and Chef will be preparing a unique event that pays tribute to the Burger in their own way.


Burger and beer lovers will not want to miss this one, Schweid & Sons is back at Beer Culture  (328 W. 45th St) with The Return of the Boozy Burger Brunch. We’ve done this event before and now it’s back by popular demand.

By purchasing a ticket to this event, you’ll get to taste 3 Burgers all made the same way but the catch is that the ground beef in each one will be different. Each Burger will feature a different Schweid & Sons Certified Angus Beef® brand blend patty. What you’ll actually be tasting here is the difference not only that CAB® makes but also what’s unique about different Schweid & Sons blends. Beer Culture founder Matt Gebhard worked with us hand and hand to pick 3 of the best Schweid & Sons CAB® blend.

Along with the Burger tasting, “Bourbon Jess” Partington, spirits expert and Heaven Hill Brands amabassador, will make her 3rd Burger Week appearance in row to guide you on a  tasting of two of their premier brands of bourbon; Elijah Crag 12 & Rittenhouse Rye.

If that’s not enough, we’ll also be joined by John Kleinchester, brand ambassador from Two Roads Brewing, who will guide you through a tasting of 2 of their more rare and hard to find brews. The Boozy Burger Brunch is the signature event of NY Burger Week.

Schweid & Sons will join Beer Authority (30 W. 40th St) to kick off the true Spring season in New York City with a rooftop crafty burger and beer dinner. Chef Louis is designing a trio of off-menu burgers guaranteed to wet your whistle. Each burger will feature Schweid & Sons Butcher’s Blend, our award winning blend of premium cuts of chuck, round and sirloin, which  gives the burger a hearty steak flavor.

While you’re tasting his gastro pub creations, you’ll wash them down with a trio of craft beers expertly paired by Joe Donagher, NY craft beer bar trailblazer and proprietor of Beer Authority. Every good burger has a friend and at this meal it’s the french fries, fried pickles and the other person you bring with you…each ticket is good for 2 people.

As a special bonus, you’ll get to hang with Brad Garoon, founder of BurgerWeekly.com and author of the new ebook “Burger City: Your Guide to the Ultimate New York City Burger Experience.” The book showcases the top Burgers in nearly every neighborhood and Burger category in the New York area. This man’s main mission in life is to help you eat the best Burgers in NYC.

We will also be joined at the Beer Burger Dinner by Joios, a collaborative food & drink community, created to sort through abundant options and discover great flavor. Our proprietary approach makes data relevant: they gather ratings at tasting events that are both serious and fun, linking eager consumers to less-known producers. You’ll taste and rate all 3 Burgers during the dinner with Joios.

You’ve had Burgers and beer. You’ve might’ve had Burgers with bourbon. But have you had Burgers with Bubbly? You will now as Schweid & Sons teams up with New York Burger Co (678 6th Ave) for a Burgers and Bubbly Paring dinner. This tasty event will be the grand finale for NY Burger Week 2015.

The dinner will feature 2 Burgers from New York Burger Co’s regular menu as well as 1 special off-menu creation, along with 1 Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich and 3 different sides. Each of the Sandwiches will be paired with a different Sparkling Wine, Prosecco or Champagne from Baron Francois. A wine expert will be on hand to taste you on each of them and walk you through the pairings themselves.

This event has only ever happened once in the past and New York Burger Co manager Christos Zisimatos asked if we would help them do it again. Who are we to say no to such a fun event?
